Success Story

I have been receiving counseling from the Kimmy G Foundation for a little over a year and it has been a life changing experience. I had given up on God and wasn't sure who or what to turn to, so I reached out for help. I have been in domestic violent relationships most of my adulthood. Most of them were extremely mentally and physically abusive. I needed to figure out why I kept entering these types of relationships and staying in them. After my last relationship turned violent, I became an addict, using sex and alcohol to numb the pain away. My life was spiraling out of control. I wasn't suicidal but I didn't want to live like this anymore. I just knew it had to be more to life. Our first meet was so overwhelming but at that point I was willing to try anything because I wanted more out of life. She prayed for my life! Prayed as if I was someone worthy enough to be saved. I left feeling like a weight was lifted off my shoulders and actually felt helpable. She gave me scriptures to read and refer to, homework, sent me links to sermons, suggested different help books to read and really gave me the tools I needed to heal myself. The more we met, the more layers I shed and started to look at life totally different, in a way I have never seen before. And it was at that time I decided to rededicate my life to Christ. I was fighting hard to let the old me die and become the person who I am destined to be. I knew I had to accept the apology I would never receive to heal myself from a lot of hurt. I had to actually deal with feelings and process them sober. It was so comfortably uncomfortable. I knew something was happening so I continued to seek counseling, seek the bible, write in my journal, surround myself around positive energy and let go of negative people and relationships. I don't even recognize the broken little girl who walked through Kimmy G doors April 2017. The broken little girl who was looking for the love she didn't receive from her father seeking any and every kind of man who would take any interest in her has taken the steps towards becoming a woman who is falling in love with self! I am reclaiming my time! Kimmy G Foundation poured into me!!! Spoke life into me!! Thank you Jesus!!!! Saved my life!!! I thank God that I reached out to this foundation because I don't where I would be had I not.
